Filming on a State Highway

Transit New Zealand manages and operates the 10,894.4 km of State Highway network in New Zealand. This network links with 85,000 km of local roads operated by local authorities and the Department of Conservation.

Filmmakers wishing to film on the NZ state highway network will need a plan according to the Code of Practice for Temporary Traffic Management. Film makers should contact the Transit NZ regional office for the area in which they intend to film for help in drawing up a plan.
