SH6 Taramaku Road/Rail Bridge closures
Transit New Zealand advises that the Taramakau Road/Rail Bridge on State Highway 6, 11km south of Greymouth, will be closed at night from 10pm to 6am on the following dates:
- Sunday night 10 February to Friday morning 15 February
- Sunday night 17 February to Friday morning 22 February
Peter Connors, Transit Operations Manager, Southern Zone, says, “We are closing the bridge to undertake repairs as part of routine maintenance work. Our contractors will be repairing steel on the bridge that has been damaged by vehicles. Unfortunately there are no alternative routes available, however we will be opening the bridge on the hour and every half hour to clear traffic.”
