Northern Motorway (SH1) Resurfacing to Finish Tomorrow
Northern Motorway (SH1) resurfacing between Oteha Valley Road and Silverdale will continue until tomorrow [Thursday] because heavy overnight rain earlier this week had restricted work to day-light hours.
Contractors are working throughout today and into the night, weather permitting, to finish the resurfacing and reopen all lanes to motorists tomorrow.
Transit thanks motorists for their ongoing patience, and apologises for the inconvenience caused by the resurfacing.
Drivers can use alternative routes via SH17 and East Coast Road this evening.
Conditions are being monitored closely, and Transit will continue to broadcast traffic updates. Motorists should also watch out for on-road variable message signs giving latest route information.
Traffic lights in Albany Village and at Northcross are being monitored and light phases altered to help keep traffic flowing.
