The Mana transit lanes -
two in your car is better by far

Two in your car is better by far.

Every day, thousands of vehicles travel on Mana Esplanade on their journey along State Highway 1. At peak hours the majority of vehicles are regular commuters travelling to or from work or those having a weekend away from home.

Mana residents and local businesses join this stream of traffic from side roads and driveways.

A large number of vehicles use the same road, at the same time to get to their destinations and we want to help them get there – quicker and more easily.

As part of the overall SH1 Plimmerton – Paremata upgrade, the introduction of transit lanes during November, along with five sets of co-ordinated traffic signals, will help move more traffic, increase efficiency at peak times and keep the roads safer for local people.
