Early morning road works on Marsh St are scheduled for the weekend as part of Transit New Zealand’s Harbour Link Project.
The work involves resurfacing the left-hand side of Marsh St heading towards the city, commencing at the Marsh St over-bridge through to the lights at the Marsh St / Chapel St intersection on Saturday, April 19 between 6.30am – 9.00am.
Some road sweeping and road marking will be done on Sunday, April 20. Transit’s Project Manager Kevin Reid said the seal would be a short-term fix to ensure the necessary work can be completed quickly with the least disruption to traffic.
Once the Chapel St Viaduct is completed and opened to traffic, the traffic on Marsh St will be significantly less and a full reconstruction of this area will take place over a four week period.
To avoid delays, motorists are advised to take an alternative route into the city along Dive Crescent. If it rains this work will be rescheduled to another weekend.
