Electronic Representation of Preferred Alignment

Following public feedback Transit has prepared an electronic file (kmz) of the Transmission Gully route for people who have access to the Google Earth software. The file provides an electronic representation of the preferred alignment for Transmission Gully (shown in white) and the existing designation boundaries (shown in yellow) over a base image provided by Google.

Please note that the various lines are shown "draped" over the landscape (ie. projected onto the ground surface). Therefore it shows the undulations of the ground surface along the route, not the proposed final vertical profile of the highway. This means that bridges (shown in purple), for example, are not shown spanning streams but follow the contours of the ground under the proposed bridge.

After down-loading the file to your computer, double-clicking on the file should open it directly into Google Earth, if you have the necessary software installed.

The file is available here
