270 Cuba Street

History

270 Cuba Street Dismantling 270 Cuba Street Dismantling

This house was built by the Tonks, probably in the 1860s after the purchase of the Town Acre, but specific records for this period are scarce and the house might date to the 1850s. The house remained in the Tonks family until 1950.

The original part of the house consisted of the remaining front two gables - the rear addition was probably an existing building moved onto the site and attached to the house in the early 1900s.
