In December 2007 the road layout at the end of SH20was changed. Hillsborough Road overbridge was opened to traffic along with the future eastbound onramp. Traffic signals at the interchange were replaced with a signalised roundabout to control traffic at the intersection. In conjunction with the overbridge opening, the link road from Hillsborough Road to Hayr Road, along Hugh Watt Drive (SH20), was closed to all traffic. Detours were in place generally involving Hillsborough Road and Carr Road.

In late December there will be a major change to the road layout at the end of SH20. Hillsborough Road overbridge will open to traffic along with the future eastbound onramp. Traffic signals at the interchange will replace the signalised roundabout to control traffic at the intersection. In conjunction with the overbridge opening, the link road from Hillsborough Road to Hayr Road, along Hugh Watt Drive (SH20), will close to all traffic. Detours will be in place which generally involves Hillsborough Road and Carr Road.
