About
Canterbury Accelerated Pavement Testing Indoor Facility (CAPTIF)
One of the world's most technically advanced pavement testing facilities.
Transit New Zealand manages New Zealand's only accelerated pavement testing facility, based at the University of Canterbury.
Canterbury Accelerated Pavement Testing Indoor Facility (CAPTIF) is a full-scale testing facility that has the technology and personnel to test a wide range of pavement and vehicle properties, and the interaction between them. Regular road construction equipment is used to build the test-pavement and standard heavy vehicle components are fitted to the loading apparatus.
